Sir Simon Jenkins, former chairman of the National Trust, when reviewing Britain’s finest houses for The Times newspaper said, “The Hall is a star, a superb example of Cheshire black and white architecture.” On a tour of this historic house, you will see fine paintings, sculpture and stained glass.
The Hall, Our Home
A lived in historic house, Gawsworth Hall is owned, run and much loved by the Richards family.
Built in 1480, here lived Mary Fitton, Dark Lady of Shakespeare’s sonnets and maid of honour to Queen Elizabeth I.
Welcome to one of Britain’s most picturesque theatres, with performances taking place in the Hall’s pretty, Tudor courtyard and rose garden. Established in 1969, there is a fully covered, all-seater auditorium for the audience.
